You can also find it on apple music, amazon, deezer and soon... youtube. coming this valentine's day, 14/2/2020. Here is the link: https://orcd.co/treatyougood did we mention it is a love song? it kind of is. Hey! Long time no see. we've been touring. we've been writing. we've been recording in the studio. we've been busy, busy, busy with a million different things that are finally starting to come together.
we'll have to recap, another time. first up - our second single from our upcoming album is set to feb 14th. it's a love song, of sorts. it's about that manic, disturbing, horrible, wonderfully dangerous moment in time when you've fallen head over heels over someone. working title has been leksak - but treat you good is now the title it has grown into having. Besides the single release we are going on a small mini tour (?!) visiting places like lilla vega, pustervik and slaktkyrkan. See you there. tell us about your love life. come as you are. we love you. kisses! soon we release our new tiny but oh, so strong baby "set me free". We have worked on this one for a while, and it was originally written a few years ago only to grow and grow into the beautiful, soaring creature it is.
it is about letting something go, a break up, emerging from whatever hell you've been in, and on top of it all: it's very dance friendly. Pre save it here: orcd.co/setmefree photograph is taken by jasmin storch, who also photographed our cover and press photos for the devotion album. long time no see. we have been a bit absent from the blog to say the least, but the year has been so filled with activities and fun that we've hardly had the time to stop and think about things.
we're playing our last show of 2018 in a couple of hours in stockholm, last night we played with the hives and the year has offered us so much more. we can't wait to tell you about everything we've seen and done, but that will have to take it's time. until we can unfold the story, know that we are here and we are working together. we have put up our remaining merchandise from the devotion run on our website, and if you do want to support us during our time of writing album number three, the merchandise or album is a great way of doing it. thank you so much for coming to our shows, for requesting us to places we cannot yet come to and for streaming and buying our album and showing it to your friends and family. we are heading into 2019 soon, and before that we are putting our time into the next album so that we can head into the studio with clear and inspired minds. again, thank you, thank you, thank you for this year! much love pale honey So so so so so so grateful and proud that we won SKAP's and Manifest's prize 'Composer of the Year', for our album Devotion. We were really shaky and hadn't prepared a speech since we didn't thought we would win, but we want to send a BIG thank you to both SKAP and Manifest for believing in us, and to Manifest who does this gala, emphazising Swedish indie music like this. We were also nominated as Rock of the Year but that prize went to much well-deserved ShitKid. The jury's motivation in Swedish:
"Motivering: Med små medel skapar de låtar som är betydligt större än summan av dess delar. De har lyckats med konststycket att skriva musik som låter bekant men ändå har ett helt eget uttryck. Vinnare i kategorin Årets kompositör: Pale Honey – Devotion (Bolero Recordings) Kompositörer: Tuva Lodmark, Nelly Daltrey, Anders Lagerfors" Photo by Carolina Mendozza/Popmani. The new year is here, and while I've been spending the holidays sick in bed for the most part since coming home from touring (that's three weeks I've been sick guys, and it's not going away!) it feels goooood to start the year with a tour. After the P6 Beat Rocker gig we're heading to Reykjavik to support IRON & WINE for the first of seven dates. We'll see you on at least one of these dates, right?!
I had a nice chat with Swedish Musikermagasinet about drumming, Devotion and a bit more. I love answering interviews, especially when there is some thought behind the questions I get. If you're one hell of a Swedish reader, the interview is up on Musikermagasinets website:
http://www.musikermagasinet.se/blogg/2017/12/20/intervju-10-snabba-med-nelly-daltrey-pale-honey I have never felt as a drummer and still feels strange when others think that drumming is all I do. It's probably the other way around, I feel comfortable drumming by myself but it rarely happens as I find myself always coming up with something new to do or keep myself busy with something else. I love the fact that I'm a bad drummer, I love the playfulness of just sitting by the drum set smashing the floor tom and making it sound like the best thing in the world. Also, my snare is amazing and holy hell how it sounds good in some places. MORE ABOUT THAT IN SOME OTHER INTERVIEW PERHAPS Nelly Denmark, we're coming back to you and will play alongside some of the baddest badasses in the business. We are BEYOND WORDS as the tickets are already sold out. What the hell Denmark!
The day after the show at Koncerthuset we're heading to Iceland for the second time to open for Iron & Wine - touring is continuing after the holidays and we've only got good things to look forward to. And what better way to start the year than with the bang that is P6 Beat Rocker? WE DON'T KNOW. After opening for The Sounds in Malmö, Sweden we packed our things into the car and drove up to Gohenburg to get on a plane to NEW YORK CITY. We have never been in the US before, and suddenly we're here in Brooklyn feeling like home. This evening we will be playing at Baby's All Right together with some of the coolest acts from Sweden. We've already gone out for burgers and beer with the big crew of Swedes and soon we'll go to the venue to soundcheck and continue rocking.
RSVP below if you are in NEW YORK, the show is FREE https://babysallright.ticketfly.com/event/1605612-sweden-makes-music-brooklyn/ As if P3 Guld wasn't enough, we've also been nominated for the Swedish Gaffa prize in no less than three categories. We're incredibly grateful for the admiration and support, we love doing what we do, and it's unbelievable that others do too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The categories we're nominated in are the following:⭐️⭐️⭐️ Album of the Year, Pop/Rock of the Year Group of the Year Head to gaffa.se/priset to vote! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the love. Photograph by kamisjolin: instagram.com/kamisjolin
We have been nominated for the Swedish P3 Guld award - this is a big thing for us and exciting as P3 has been following us since the start of the band. It was P3 that premiered our first release "Fish" a few years back and the singles have kept on spinning since, and the love has kept coming from the radio channel as well as the public in Sweden. ❤️ The two categories we've been nominated in are ❤️ Rock of the year Group of the year. You can cast your vote at www.p3guld.se/ (note that it is a Swedish website) until Thursday the 14th of December. The winners will be announced at the P3 Guld gala in January 2018 which we've already put in our calendars. Thank you for the endless support, always.
Long time no see. We have been busy living and releasing our second album!!
10 tracks that we are super proud of and it feels wonderful. We celebrated the release with champagne and pizza, and the day after we played a couple of songs at Bengans, a record store in Gothenburg that distribute our albums. Devotion is out on both LP and CD so GET IT NOW GUYS we have worked on this album for two years and now we're only continuing. More about the album later - now we're back to living. OUR SECOND ALBUM IS COMING OCTOBER 13TH!
Exciting times ahead, our second album goes under the name Devotion and will be out on the dangerous date of Friday October 13th. Vinyls and CDs will be available, hopefully for the release day. THIS IS INSANE!! Nelly here! In the beginning of July I moved to a new apartment in Gothenburg and finished two courses at the upper secondary adult education. I didn't do too well in school from when I was 17 as I was one tiny, tired wolf and so I decided to take the summer to study a bit. I like creating and I'm interested in different things - it just takes a lot of energy to actually sit down to complete something and get good grades. As a break from everything that has happened, both in my private life and all the work we have put in to the upcoming album, I decided to book a trip to Budapest.
As usual, it's always a wild card when we want to do something in case a promotor calls and wants us to play etc and this time around, for my very first trip without the band, was not any different. In the end I got to stay in Budapest and enjoyed walking around the city and having drinks. I have super cool allergies and am sensitive to A LOT so I enjoyed the second day not only a bit hung over but also swollen in my face - especially around the eyes. I also despise when it's sunny and hot outside, I prefer cloudy or even rainy days. The plane back home was scheduled to lift at 6 am so I spent the night at the airport awake on the floor (Oh, tour memories!) and on the way to the airport I lost my wallet. I gotta lose something every time I am out travelling, AT LEAST IT WASN'T MY MIND THIS TIME. /N Hello there! Summer is finally upon us and we're taking this time to rest and enjoy the nice weather, from bed or by actually going outside. But we are also working on lots of fun things for the ALBUM RELEASE + TOUR that is coming up. And Nelly is studying and moving. And Tuva is having the time of her life, hopefully. She was last seen by the ocean as she loves to swim.
We've made a Spotify playlist that is up on HiFi-Klubben's website which includes our favourite summer songs that we love to blast in our headphones, or even better - in the car. You can find the playlist >>HERE<<. It's in Swedish but you're smart, and will figure it out. There are also playlists by other cool artists, so if ours turns out to be shitty, you can always try your luck elsewhere. Press 'LÄS IN SPELLISTAN' and BLAST AWAY. WHAT!!?! Among the things that we've been up to lately is that we recorded a cover of ABBAs Lay All Your Love On Me! It is out TOMORROW (June 2nd) and we will of course be up in Stockholm and visit the ABBA museum to celebrate. We REALLY hope that you will enjoy this special release - we love it.
Hello there!
Lots of things have happened since the latest blog entry. As a band we have recorded the final vocals for our upcoming album and finished mixing. Now the mastering awaits, and everything else that is involved around making a complete LP... STAY TUNED. To wrap up the work we've done so far, and come out of the studio for once, we went on a small tour in Germany. Both of us are studying while working with the music, because WHY NOT?! It means that we always have something to do, and getting away for a week was well needed. We all took the ferry down to Kiel and it turned out to be one of our best decisions - we got the buffé at kids price and had fun playing games while on the boat. Tuva LOVED the turning chairs, we had a go at the QUIZ but lost and the BEER was lovely despite not being cold. It's always fun to travel and Germany did not disappoint, though we did oddly enough not listen to Rammstein once in the car. Instead we enjoyed listening to radio documentaries and learning odd things - like that Anders thought sheep and goats where the same thing. It was a very enlightening trip in other words. Hey!
We're back after a weekend in Stockholm where we had a blast at Södra Teatern at an event that was all about music. It was also our second time playing with Peter, Bjorn & John and who knows - maybe there will be more gigs together in the future. We had no bourbon this time but instead we had a nice dinner with our label where we tried fusion food (THE CRIPSY RICE BALLS WITH SHROOMS AND CHILI WERE A HIT!) and had drinks. Always spoil your friends, and yourself too. Treat yo'self. The guys over at Teenage Engineering were playing at the event too and were more than happy to talk about their gadgets that we are keeping our eyes on. One day they will be ours. All of them. They also shared a clothing hack; always be naked under your overalls. It looks better that way. But we can't share any pics from that. We're pretty much done with the upcoming single, our cover has been approved and right now Anders is fixing cables in the studio so that we can record using too rooms without an open door. He's got the worlds shakiest hands but we are praying for him and so should you. UNTIL NEXT TIME X Hey!
![]() It’s Wednesday and we’re continuing our studio-streak with recording vocals and making everything neat for the single. Today we’ve also got Elsa in the studio, the little dog that we sometimes look after and are very fond of. Tomorrow we’re playing with Peter Bjorn & John at Nefertiti in Gothenburg - a stone throw’s away from the studio and everyone should come! Tickets are available here (Swedish link): http://kulturbolaget.se/konserter/2016/peter-bjorn-and-john-gbg/ We’ll be playing a few unreleased songs ourselves so if you want to get a vibe for what the upcoming album is going to be about - SEE YOU TOMORROW! BRING GOTT HUMÖR! X ![]() We are alive! We’ve had some fun days out on tour here in Sweden as well as visiting Copenhagen, Denmark for the first show. The grand finale was at Pustervik in our hometown Gothenburg and it was very heartwarming to see so many new faces and to meet some of you after the gigs. With us during the whole tour we had filmmaker Johan Stolpe who previously shot the music video for Real Thing. Despite the critical lack of sleep we enjoyed every second of it. We’ve now had a few days of sleep since as well as failing exams (as one should do from time to time) and playing computer games. We are now back in the studio and will be here for the coming days as we wrap up a single, and songs for the upcoming album. It’s all very exciting and we definitely feel that it’s about time we let the monsters we’ve kept under construction loose soon enough. Our first album was released back in May 2015 and looking back it feels like a very long time ago and THANK GOD FOR THAT so that we could get the time to…. ... go on a European tour as four people with FULL backline in a HATCHBACK CAR. ... seduce bass players ... see producer Anders become a taken man ... move to new places ... ditch our stinky rehearsal room for a nicer one ... fill the freezer with ice-cream and eat it all. ... become a CARD PRO in Hearthstone ... write lots and lots of demos for our next album ... try drugs UNTIL NEXT TIME X |
PALE HONEYWe are a band from Göteborg, Sweden. We've been on tour around Europe since we released our debut EP in 2014. So far we have released two full length albums, Pale Honey (2015) and Devotion (2017). NELLYNelly is a tiny creature who lives on ice cream and beer. She is rarely seen outside her pillow fortress. Gets angry if she needs to go out in the sun. Please don't make her go out in the sun. TUVATuva spends her days being awesome. Her interests include watering her plants, taking pictures of her plants and of course drinking beer (with her plants). Archives
