![]() We are alive! We’ve had some fun days out on tour here in Sweden as well as visiting Copenhagen, Denmark for the first show. The grand finale was at Pustervik in our hometown Gothenburg and it was very heartwarming to see so many new faces and to meet some of you after the gigs. With us during the whole tour we had filmmaker Johan Stolpe who previously shot the music video for Real Thing. Despite the critical lack of sleep we enjoyed every second of it. We’ve now had a few days of sleep since as well as failing exams (as one should do from time to time) and playing computer games. We are now back in the studio and will be here for the coming days as we wrap up a single, and songs for the upcoming album. It’s all very exciting and we definitely feel that it’s about time we let the monsters we’ve kept under construction loose soon enough. Our first album was released back in May 2015 and looking back it feels like a very long time ago and THANK GOD FOR THAT so that we could get the time to…. ... go on a European tour as four people with FULL backline in a HATCHBACK CAR. ... seduce bass players ... see producer Anders become a taken man ... move to new places ... ditch our stinky rehearsal room for a nicer one ... fill the freezer with ice-cream and eat it all. ... become a CARD PRO in Hearthstone ... write lots and lots of demos for our next album ... try drugs UNTIL NEXT TIME X We have been busy this week, working on prepoductions in the studio, and moved to our new rehearsal room where we'll live our lives the coming months.
We shot the video for Real Thing together with talented Johan Stolpe over the course of a few days with a lot of work and very little sleep. The shots in the forest were filmed at 4 am - 17 hours into our work day if not more - with the batteries of the flashlights draining just in time when we got the last shot. Needless to say, we are in love with the finished video! Here are some behind the scenes photos, and the video itself. And so it was time for live shows. This time we played at The Lexington, London and Byscenen, Trondheim. We did the sleeping at the airports and while flying, all of our flights were delayed but we did get a warm chocolate chip cookie when checking in to one hotel and the beer was good everywhere we went.
DIY magazine gives a sneak peak on our new single Real Thing. We can't even explain how happy we are to share this with you. This friday (14th of oct) the single will be released on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon etc.Yesterday we played at Mono here in Olso, it was crowded and super fun (we sweated a looooooooot on stage). Tonight we'll play at Rockefeller. Quite excited :DD::D:D:D We love Oslo!We don't look so excited here though but we just got off stage and were carrying all of our equipment back to the hotel. But after that: beeeeer!Yesterday the Swedish radio program P3 Musikguiden visited us at Tuva's home, sending live directly from the bedroom, We played stripped versions of a couple of our songs, had an interview and also made a cover of Rihanna and Drake's 'Work'. It felt very special, and kind of wierd, but inspiring to do something different. And we're quite proud of the result :-) Listen to it here, and the whole program (Over Your Head+Tease+interview) here. In Swedish though.Yesterday it was the P3 Gold Gala in Gothenburg here in Sweden. We we're nominated as Newcomer of the Year, so of course we had to be there! Didn't win in our category but we loved it anyway, had a smashing party at our hotel room and drank a loooot of champagne (which we never really do, it's beer only otherwise.. but we felt really fancy and everything).
We had the honour to visit Musikhjälpen for a live show last friday! Musikhjälpen is a radio- and TV-show that airs once in a year in favour of different world crisis. This year all the money they collected goes to helping climate refugees all over the world, After a week they had collected 31 million swedish crowns! That's about 3,6 million dollars. Amazing!
Iiiih we can't even explain how happy we are about being nominated as NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR AT P3 GULD! P3 is a Swedish radio station that has a BIG yearly music gala. It feels so great to have been noticed by Sweden's biggest music channel <3 Vi är så sjukt glada över att ha blivit nominerade till Årets Nykomling på P3 Guld. Det är lyssnarna som röstar fram vinnaren, så om ni röstar på oss (www.p3guld.se) så kommer vi att älska er förevigt. <3A bunch of backstage- and hangaround photos from the last London gig we did!Tour manager Kalle and label manager Lally. And our booker My was with us as well!*leaning against the wall looking cool* Our FOH engineer Matt. He's the best actually.Last week we went to Brighton for the first time (!) and we loved it. We were playing at The Secret Festival, a new festival by some of the organizers of The Great Escape. Our favourite Andy was with us of course. This is pretty much tour life captured in one photo :')After our gig at Patterns we went out for som beers and ended up at a place where they only played PJ Harvey, QOTSA and Jimi Hendrix vinyls. We were in heaven. Nelly was slighty tired after the intense live set we played (she really whipped her hair back there) . So we had a few beers and got back to the hostel to fly to Gothenburg the day after!Andy didn't really nail the focus......... but we like him anyway. |
PALE HONEYWe are a band from Göteborg, Sweden. We've been on tour around Europe since we released our debut EP in 2014. So far we have released three full length albums, Pale Honey (2015) and Devotion (2017) and Some time, alone (2020). NELLYNelly is a tiny creature who lives on ice cream and beer. She is rarely seen outside her pillow fortress. Gets angry if she needs to go out in the sun. Please don't make her go out in the sun. TUVATuva spends her days being awesome. Her interests include watering her plants, taking pictures of her plants and of course drinking beer (with her plants). Archives
